Vancouver home owners recently received their tax assessments. How did yours look? In Vancouver it is common to have assessments which lag behind by 25% of what would be the current market value. Assessments are the estimate of a property’s market value as of July 1, 2007. This common valuation date ensures that all properties are assessed fairly and there is an equitable base for property taxation.
“Most homes on this year’s assessment roll are worth more than they were on the 2007 assessment roll, and market movement is strong again this year” said Area Assessor Jason Grant. “For example, increases of 10 to 20 percent for single family homes and condominiums are very common.”

Three heritage-designated buildings on the waterfront of the City of North Vancouver were voted by council 5-2 to rescind the heritage designation and move forward with demolition last night at a council meeting. So far the federal and provincial governments have been clear that in order for the National Maritime Museum to be considered, the overall costs of the project must be reduced. The city’s original proposal came in at $106 million which has now been reduced to a mere $80million. View our listing which is just over looking the water adjacent to the future museum.

- How will the newly announced expansion of the UBC line, Evergreen line effect home prices to the newly connected areas?
- How does Vancouver look as a place to live and invest in the eyes of the world in today’s markets?
