Cost of Living Survey - Worldwide Ranking 2007
Toronto remains the most expensive Canadian city, but dropped 35 places to number 82 in the rankings. Vancouver ranks 89th, Calgary 92nd and Montreal 98th. While the Canadian dollar has appreciated sharply against the U.S. dollar, it has depreciated nearly 13 per cent against the euro since last year’s survey. Only two North American cities crack the top 50 - New York at number 15 and Los Angeles at number 42. The ranking of all American cities fell this year because of the declining value of the U.S. dollar.
